McAfee and Symantec Join Fortinet and Palo Alto Networks as Co-founders of the Industry's First Cyber Threat Alliance

The mission of the Alliance is to conduct cyber threat a coordinated industry effort against cyber adversaries through deep threat intelligence cooperation and exchange of indicators of commitment.

While industry efforts of the past have often been limited to the exchange of malware samples, this new alliance will provide more information on actionable threats contributing members, including information about zero-day vulnerabilities, botnet command and control (C & C) server information, mobile threats, and indicators of compromise (IOCs) related to advanced persistent threats (APT) and samples of commonly compartidos- malware. By raising collective actionable intelligence industry, participants in the partnership will provide greater certainty for individual clients and organizations.

In addition to the evolution of the structure and statutes alliance, co-founders of Fortinet, McAfee, Palo Alto Networks and Symantec will increasingly devote resources to determine the most effective mechanisms for sharing data from advanced threats to foster collaboration between all members of the alliance and move forward together in the fight against sophisticated cyber adversaries.
